Today, we are celebrating a milestone that very few people get to experience: 50 years with the same company!

At Klokkerholm Karosseridele, we are incredibly proud to have Tom as our colleague – and we have had that privilege since 1976.

Tom started out as a general helper and has quite literally helped lay the foundations of the company we are today. Over half a century, he has left his mark on Klokkerholm, working in production, the warehouse and administration. It is employees like Tom who help shape our history, our culture and the strength of our company.

And quite a lot has changed since Tom arrived for his first day at work in 1976...

Cars such as the Ford Taunus, Opel Kadett and Ford Escort were a common sight on the roads, and 1976 saw the launch of the first VW Golf GTI. A litre of petrol cost around DKK 2.43, and DR was the only Danish television channel. Telephones were fixed to the wall, and computers were certainly not standard equipment on office desks. Communication therefore took place by letter and telex – in a world without email, Teams, Google or AI.

Although a lot has changed over the past 50 years, fortunately Tom is still very much a part of Klokkerholm.

To mark his 50 years of service with Klokkerholm Karosseridele, Tom has been awarded Den Kongelige Belønningsmedalje (the Danish Royal Medal of Recompense) – a very special honour awarded by decision of His Majesty the King.

We often say that Klokkerholm is the kind of company where you clock in for what you think will be a short stay – and end up staying for an entire working life. We have colleagues celebrating 10, 20, 30 and 40 years with the company.

And then we have Tom. 50 years. Five decades of loyalty, professionalism, dedication and truly exceptional service certainly deserve to be celebrated.
